How much Indians spent on rejected Schengen Visas in 2023

Did you know Indians spent over €12 million on Schengen Visa applications last year which were rejected?

Indians are among the top five nationalities with the highest rate of rejected Schengen Visa applications in 2023. Out of the 151,752 visa requests filed by Indian nationals, a substantial number of visa applications were rejected.

This eventually led to an estimated loss of €12.1 million in visa application fees for Indian applicants which would have led to a financial burden on Indians who wanted to travel to Schengen countries this year.

In 2023, Schengen countries rejected a total of 1.6 million visa applications which resulted in €130 million in generated funds as stated by Schengen News.
