Holiday Notice for the Festive Season - China
Please note that the Chinese Visa Application Service Centre in Kolkata will be closed on 31st October 2024 and 1st November 2024 in observance of Kali Puja and Diwali festival. Kindly schedule your appointments and submissions accordingly.
Chennai Visa Application Centre
Due to severe weather conditions, all VFS Global Visa Application Centres in Chennai will remain closed on Wednesday, 16 October 2024. Applicants with confirmed appointments for 16 October 2024 may visit the Chennai Visa Application Centres during business hours on 18 October 2024 and between 21-25 October 2024 to submit their applications.
India Withdraws High Commissioner from Canada
India has withdrawn its diplomats from Canada, citing safety concerns due to a growingly hostile environment. This diplomatic rift could impact visa applicants and Indian nationals living in Canada, potentially resulting in delays, tighter immigration policies, and reduced consular support.
Impact on Visa Applications:
Visa applications for work, study or travel may face increased delays in application processing. Additionally, Indian Nationals residing in Canada or looking to apply for permanent residency could see changes in immigration policies.
UAE Launches 30-Day e-Visa for GCC Countries
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has introduced an e-visa system for residents of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, allowing them to visit the UAE for up to 30 days. To be eligible, residents must:
- Possess a valid residency permit from a GCC country with a minimum validity of one year.
- Ensure their passport is valid for at least six months from the date of arrival
Qatar eVisa
The Qatar e-visa requires a confirmed reservation through Discover Qatar for the Hayya entry visa or visa on arrival. This includes booking an approved hotel for a minimum of 3 nights. Travelers can choose from hotels specifically approved for the Hayya visa. Alternatively, a Qatar resident can add you as a guest through the Host Family and Friends option.
China Visa Update
The Chinese Visa Application Service Centre in Mumbai will resume accepting visa and attestation applications from 8th October 2024, following the conclusion of the Chinese National Day holidays.
